Veuve Clicquot goes from champagne to chandeliers
While it may seem unlikely for a winemaker to move into the lighting market, that is just what Veuve Clicquot has done.
The champagne firm has launched its own interpretation of a classic chandelier in the form of the Globalight.
Featuring light emitting diodes that give off a soft glow, the device also keeps a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rose chilled for up to four hours.
However, with only 500 chandeliers available worldwide, the luminaire could quickly become a collectors’ item.
Cecile Bonnefond, president of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, says: “Globalight enhances the ritual of enjoying champagne in a sophisticated, stylish way.”
The news is one of a number of such launches by alcoholic beverage companies recently.
Vodka producer Belvedere previously announced the launch of the Jagger Dagger, a limited edition bejewelled ice pick designed by Jade Jagger.
A premium version of the blade is available entwined with white gold, while a more affordable variation is also in production.
