Blog marketing and social networking aren't areas of SEO - they are marketing channels in their own right and neither are a prerequisite for SEO success.

Sounds like an agency just playing up the importance of these areas simply because they decided to offer blog marketing and SMO services.

Companies should market themselves by differentiating themselves from their competitors - yes.  But don't simply make bold claims in order to change some obscure consumer perception of the situation.</description>
