The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has launched updated guidelines for online video advertising.

The IAB’s Video Council has created the new guidelines and they cover every format of online video advertising so usage is standardised and growth is supported.

Meanwhile, the IAB Video Council has launched an educational online resource and handbook to take marketers in each step of undertaking an efficient video advertising campaign.

“The new handbook and digital resource provide guidelines and case studies that will help to continue to build this exciting new way of reaching out to and engaging the online audience,” explained Robert Black, rainmaker of Utarget.FOX and chair of the IAB Video Council.

He added that the purpose of the council itself is to get the industry interested in the potency of video advertising and to make it simpler for organisations to do business.

The IAB introduced the Mobile Advertising Innovator Award 2009 - the IAB’s first award focusing on the mobile industry.
