Web design tips for increasing online sales revealed
An expert has revealed a series of web design tips which are said to directly improve sales figures.
One key method which can increase conversions is to ensure that the “add to basket” or “buy item” button is well designed, according to Graham Charlton, writing for the Econsultancy blog.
If the button stands out as much as possible from other elements on the webpage, he argues, then it will attract a larger number of clicks.
Mr Charlton suggests the colour, wording, size and positioning of the button are all important aspects to bear in mind.
“It’s the most important link on a product page, so shoppers need to instantly see it without having to hunt around,” he explained.
Meanwhile, another industry expert has stated that now is a “great time” for consumers to buy online due to the plethora of offers and discount vouchers currently available.
Mark Pearson, managing director of MyVoucherCodes, said e-commerce is “a bit of a cut-throat sector”, with retailers seeking to outdo each other with lower prices.
