Online advertising to see growth in 2009

The online advertising sector will grow next year, according to a new report.

ZenithOptimedia predicted that the industry will increase by 18 per cent in 2009, while traditional media markets in western Europe and North America will fall by one and 5.7 per cent respectively.

It also expected the long-term future of the marketing medium to be strong, while in 2011 it will have a 15.6 per cent share of worldwide advert outlay, 5.2 points in front of magazines.

Online will still be 5.6 points behind newspapers, but this is nearly a third the value in 2008 (15.1 points).

The UK chief executive of the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) Guy Phillipson called the report “encouraging”.

He added: “In the UK we expect our share to be a world-leading 20 per cent in 2008, and this will continue to grow past TV in 2009.”

The IAB also pointed to studies from GroupM and Enders Analysis which predicted that online marketing will do well in relation to other mediums next year.

Now-a-days people think that newspaper & magazine advertising would not benefit their business. But as per my knowledge it plays a vital role in getting enquiries and sales. All you need to do is, select a proper
company which offers cheap advertising, place the ads in popular newspaper which would be accessible to all kinds of advertisers.
