Online marketing budgets to increase in 2009
Media agencies are to see their online marketing budgets grow next year, despite the predicted recession, according to new research.
A survey by New Media Age (NMA) found that display budgets are expected to see ten per cent growth over the year while search budgets will increase by 17 per cent.
This increase in display spending would be mainly through portals and networks, NMA added.
The study asked questions of the heads of the top ten media agencies in NMA’s Top 100 Interactive Agencies 2008 report, along with five others.
Mobile and social media would be one area which would be driving the growth, while targeting and search would also show new developments.
The findings back up an earlier study from G2 Data Dynamics which was released this month.
It discovered that the 37 per cent of the British public was fed up with advertising using celebrities and many preferred email and website marketing.
