Online marketing ’should involve video’

When marketing online, businesses should look to use video as consumers are now uninspired by traditional web content, it has been said.

Phil Turnbull, marketing manager at the international hosting company Hostway, made his assertion at Technology for Marketing & Advertising 2009, which took place between February 24th and 25th in London.

He claimed that now “video is definitely immersing itself into the market” a good deal more and some companies will be wanting to use new fresher techniques and will be wanting to use video.

“People aren’t really as satisfied from a usability and excitement point of view [by] just seeing text and widgets,” Mr Turnbull added.

Technology for Marketing & Advertising 2009 consisted of numerous events including the Sensational Six keynote speeches by delegates from organisations such as LinkedIn and the Digital Training Academy.

A total of 55 seminars were also part of the programme, with some focusing exclusively on e-commerce and digital marketing.
