Keira Knightley appears in Women’s Aid online ad
Actress Keira Knightley and Joe Wright have joined forces for an advert that will feature on the internet.
The award-winning actress and the BAFTA-winning director, who worked with each other on Atonement, have come together for a Women’s Aid and Grey London national domestic violence awareness campaign.
A film named CUT, which can be viewed online, features Knightley coming home from a film set to an abusive partner who ends up kicking the film star.
It ends with the question: “Isn’t it time someone called cut?”
Speaking about her participation in the campaign, Knightley commented: “We may not think we know someone who has experienced domestic violence, but this does not mean that it is not happening.”
Oscar-nominated cinematographer Seamus McGarvey also took part in the production of the advert.
Women’s Aid, which celebrated its 30th birthday in 2004, supports more than 500 domestic and sexual violence services in the UK
