Microsoft updates Live Search for mobiles
Microsoft has announced that it has updated its Live Search for Windows Mobile - and it may have created some opportunities for online marketing.
One of the biggest changes could affect smaller businesses looking for local custom.
According to the software giant, the new version of Live Search Mobile makes it simpler for users to find local firms, as well as getting both maps and directions on their device.
“For starters, no more fumbling around with your phone trying to enter your exact location,” said Live Search Mobile product manager Jeremy Beasley.
“Location detection helps you automatically find your location even if you’re not on a GPS-enabled phone.”
Additionally, new techniques in search engine optimisation may be possible through improvements to the entry system.
Live Search now features a predictive query input mechanism which looks through old searches, as well as some that the engine puts forward.
The new features will also be available for Windows Mobile 5 users.
