Unlikely ‘mobile marketing will replace internet advertising’
It is unlikely that mobile marketing will replace traditional internet advertising, it has been claimed.
Phil Turnbull, marketing manager at Hostway, said that web media is going to be the top dog in terms of advertising for a long time to come.
He asserted that web media “will evolve into something else” as the internet evolves too.
Mr Turnbull also spoke of marketing via social networks and commented that there have been a number of “false starts”.
He stated he was not 100 per cent certain that it is “going to replace the traditional media”.
Mr Turnbull admitted that mobile marketing will be a great support for other forms of advertising and that it will become increasingly important in time.
He made his comments at Technology for Marketing & Advertising 2009, where Design UK was offering live demonstrations of its website optimisation tools, including an eye-tracking program which is designed to provide an insight into how users interact with a website.
