Climate change campaigns ‘must be compelling’

Campaigns aimed at encouraging people to adopt behaviours that will help to stall or slow climate change should be more “compelling”, a new study claims.

A new report by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (Nesta) suggests that “miserable” and “gloomy” government climate change campaigns are failing and more positive schemes are needed to initiate change.

Saatchi & Saatchi London has created a new integrated campaign for T-Mobile that depicts people searching for minutes in a range of unusual locations.

The £17 million cross-platform campaign challenges customers to find more minutes for £30 than T-Mobile currently offers and will be rolled out across television, internet, press and outdoor channels.

Alcohol marketing ‘is not to blame for binge drinking’

Advertising is not the cause of increased binge drinking in the UK, according to an Advertising Association study.

Some 85 per cent of 18-24 year olds questioned claimed that most or all of their friends were also binge drinkers, suggesting marketing was not at fault.
