Green accessories ‘raise awareness’
Eco-conscious accessories help to raise awareness of environmental issues, according to one online retailer.
Keith Berman, director of EverybodyGreen, explains that the firm provides such items to help support the notion that being green can be both fashionable and fun.
“It is imperative that people start to see every choice as an opportunity to help the environment,” he says.
“We are thankful that our green accessories have been so successful in raising awareness.”
EverybodyGreen produces bracelets and other accessories from natural materials - which means no plastic.
The organisation notes that, as plastic is inorganic, it does not break down or decompose.
Even when plastic is recycled, the retailer contends that it cannot be reformed into the same product.
Bottles must therefore be fashioned into items of lesser value and ultimately end up in a landfill site, EverybodyGreen states.
As an alternative, its own products are naturally derived and typically feature a number of rows of beads.
