Firms hail benefits of natural search marketing
More than half of firms rate internet marketing using natural search as “very effective”, according to new research.
Some 79 per cent of firms use natural search marketing - using search engine optimisation (SEO) - to drive sales of their products, according to figures from eConsultancy.
However, 48 per cent of businesses polled also claimed that paid search was very effective for them.
According to Paul Bruemmer, writing on Search Engine Land, not enough firms are aware of the cost-effective benefits of SEO over paid search.
Although he notes that marketers should really take a holistic approach by using all search mediums to enhance their online campaign.
“You need to make sure you are doing ‘total search marketing’ by taking advantage of all search marketing tactics,” he said.
Google’s blogging engineer Matt Cutts recently offered some excellent advice on how firms can boost SEO by developing a blog on site that is updated with fresh content regularly.
