Firms ‘miss out on SEO’
Firms are ignoring key areas of search engine optimisation (SEO), one expert has claimed.
According to Justin James of TechRepublic, businesses are missing out on saving money in other areas of digital marketing by ignoring simple SEO.
He wrote: “If you want to leverage your website as much as possible and minimise the amount you need to spend on paid ads, you might want to bring in an outside expert.”
But SEO is a huge and continually developing sector where even some experts lack skills in certain areas, according to ThinkBIG.
Marc Arner, the emerging digital marketing firm’s co-founder, claims that the best SEO campaigns utilise four main fundamental channels.
According to Mr Arner, firms that incorporate SEO, inbound linking, blog marketing and social networking into one sythesised campaign are likely to perform best.
However, he notes that it is rare to find an agency that is a true expert in all four of these areas.

Blog marketing and social networking aren’t areas of SEO - they are marketing channels in their own right and neither are a prerequisite for SEO success.
Sounds like an agency just playing up the importance of these areas simply because they decided to offer blog marketing and SMO services.
Companies should market themselves by differentiating themselves from their competitors - yes. But don’t simply make bold claims in order to change some obscure consumer perception of the situation.
