Yahoo gets romantic
Yahoo’s content quality editor Noah Belson has been providing some Valentine’s Day tips on the company’s search marketing blog.
Mr Belson suggested that geo-targeted campaigns could be vital for advertisers selling goods in their local area.
By using these types of campaigns, marketers can ensure that people who look for “flower delivery” for instance, without specifying their locality, will only see the advert if they are within the seller’s range.
“Which makes sense, since they’re the most likely people to be searching for you,” added Mr Belson.
Additionally, keeping with the flowers theme, he said that florists offering a same-day delivery service should “call that out in [their] creatives”.
He added: “Not only will that appeal to last minute Valentine shoppers, it’s a good idea in general to let people know that you’ll get the flowers there on the day they’re ordered, no matter what.”
However, Mr Belson concluded by saying that marketers should still remember to conduct all the usual practices they do throughout the year.
