Google looks to expand with blogging
Google has acquired both Blogger as well as the Korean blogging network TNC TextCube, developing the search engine’s “own source of increased ad revenues”, according to IQ Division.
This follows the move by Google to purchase the Russian advertising and blogging platform ZAO BEGUN from Rambler Media for $140 million (£101.96 million).
IQ Division commented: “This is a smart move on Google’s part as their advertising network AdWords truly goes hand-in-hand with blogging both personal and commercial.”
Revenues from European blog advertising looks set to go beyond one billion euros (£942.8 million) by 2010 and as online advertising and blogging grows, people should expect to see further acquisitions in the sector, IQ Division explained.
The organisation is itself expanding, moving outside of Europe and initiating blogging campaigns in US, China and other regions.
Bruce Lawson of Opera, writing for ZDNet.co.uk, recently stated that websites will become increasingly accessible this year.
He added that those sites that are the first to take advantage of this “mainstream” accessibility will be rewarded.
