Making money from Friend Connect

Google released its Friend Connect service earlier this month - but one industry commentator thinks he knows how the company are going to make money from it.

Friend Connect allows webmasters to add social networking content to their sites, so people can debate and share info, along with all the other functions on social networks, without the webmaster having to program it all.

However, according to Michael Arrington from Tech Crunch, Google staff are calling Friend Connect ‘Friendsense’, which apparently reveals quite a bit about their plans for the product.

“Why? Because like Adsense, Google plans to use Friend Connect as a shoehorn to insert advertising onto third-party websites,” he wrote.

“Soon websites that use Friend Connect will have a new option - add Adsense-like advertising within the Friend Connect and Open Social widgets that they’ve added to their websites. Publishers will get a percentage of the revenue generated from the advertising.”

Google’s advertising was one of the hot topics in the online world in 2008, following a lengthy drama over its proposed deal with Yahoo.

The company eventually pulled out of the agreement.

Advertising is the art of arresting the human intelligence just long enough to get money from it. We have many sources to get people know about our business and products. Per my experience i would prefer media advertising as effective source for it.
